As you might know, in these days SEGEL members fronted the high level Administration personnel in the University, proposing a condition for better scholarship amount for everybody.
If you did not read or received the email of today, here we forward it.
PS Nevertheless, we are still looking for Postdoc fellows to join Valentina for a personal meeting with the Vice President of the Research of the Uni.
Possibly, we need someone from the Indian community(and not only), to show more internationality. For now we have 2 Europeans and an Asian person

A meeting with scholarship recipients regarding the demand to raise the scholarships in the next academic year was held after the assembly.
Demand to Increase Scholarships by 12.5% and a Higher Raise for Postdoctoral Fellows
This week, we reached out to the Director General of the university regarding the full payment of the compensation bonus, which was not properly administered. We also demanded an increase in scholarships for the upcoming academic year.
Based on our previous discussions and conversations with you over the past few weeks, we demanded a 12.5% increase in scholarships for all scholarship recipients. This demand is justified by the need to align the scholarship amounts with the rise in average wages in Israel between 2021 and 2023; our scholarships have not been updated according to the Consumer Price Index since 2021.
Postdoctoral fellows have not received any compensation and their scholarships have remained stagnant for several years. Therefore, we demanded a double raise of 25% for postdoctoral fellows. Additionally, we demanded to raise the minimum percentage of scholarships to 200% (from a 100% minimum for Israeli postdocs and from a 150% minimum for international postdocs). A 100% postdoctoral scholarship currently amounts to 5,723 NIS per month - a little more than the minimum wage with no benefits - for holders of a PhD with extensive research experience who devote full time to research.
We will keep you updated on the response from the university’s administration, and once we receive it, we can discuss and decide on our next course of action together.
Yours,
The Teaching and Research Faculty Organization
