- Foreigners need a Schengen visa to the enter the Schengen region.
- For a visa application, you need to apply to the embassy of the country where you will spend the maximum time during the trip, irrespective of the point of entry. Eg. If you have a 7 day trip and you plan to spend 3 days in France and 4 days in Italy, you need to apply to the Italian embassy for the visa.
- The application procedure, time, cost and specifics usually vary for each embassy. You need to look up the exact details on their website/contact them via email.
- Usually, you'll need:
- Flight tickets,
- Travel insurance,
- proof of accommodation
- bank statements showing sufficient financial capacity + additional stuff. depending on type of visit (tourism, business etc)

...for France, they don’t not accept the automatic extension of the visa (even though you get an entry pass). You need a minimum of 3 months of valid Israel visa on your passport (not entry visa) from the date you are flying back to israel.
I[eventually] told them that I am going back to my home country and not coming back to Israel. This way they accepted my application and gave me a visa. I had to book a flight to my home country from France. And you need to show payment proof.
So this is a possibility if someone wants to travel to France with their automatic extension visa.
